Job Summary
Manages the efficient and safe operation of all plant, equipment, ancillary maintenance and repairs towards protection of the property asset including structural aspects of the building.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Provides advice to senior management on all aspects of engineering support, environmental best practices and controls and the operational efficiency of the property.
2. Ensures the effective financial management of the engineering department by setting maintenance budgets, capital works programme’s and engineering plans and ensuring that performance against these are regularly monitored and reviewed. Responsible for the general cost control aspects of maintenance, the preparation of departmental cost budgets and their implementation and submission to management.
3. Assists with capital project planning, in liaison with senior management, to ensure capital funding is effectively allocated and budgeted in accordance with company directives and philosophy.
4. Plans, implements and administers an energy management program by establishing energy management "best practices" to achieve reductions in consumption, without negative impact to customers or associates, and maintains records and sets future performance targets against with the objective to reduce usage and enhance profitability.
Experience
At least ten years experience in the hotel engineering operation in which min five years as Assistant Director of Engineering or similar position.
