PRIMARY
OBJECTIVES:
The key purpose of the Assistant Manager,
PR & Corporate Communications, APAC role is to drive the PR and Communications
strategy and initiatives in Asia Pacific to help enhance brand awareness of the
Company and support its growth objectives. Reporting to Senior Manager, PR
& Communications, this role will primarily support wider APAC communications initiatives with
franchisee, managed properties and internal communications, public relations,
and corporate communications to both internal and external audiences.
PRINCIPAL
RESPONSIBILITIES: (Include but not
limited to:)
Editorial
·
Assist
SM to formulate B2B communication strategies by partnering appointed agency to
evaluate secured media interview opportunities and prepare relevant members of
SLT for the respective interview sessions.
·
Assist
SM to draft B2B and B2C press releases to communicate financial results, strategic
signings, key property openings, Wyndham Rewards and B2C promotional campaigns
to ensure high, consistent standard of copywriting and alignment with Global
key messages. Support applicable press releases with translation and adaption
for Greater China region.
·
Partner
WHR Business Development and agency team to design, curate posts and amplify
key signings, achievements via dedicated WeChat BD platform.
·
Curate,
Edit and Design quarterly Check In newsletters to strengthen communications
with Owners and Franchisees.
·
Reach
out, Engage and Cultivate Partnerships with top tier B2B digital and print
media in Greater China.
Creative
·
Curate, Design innovative content
concepts for WHR internal communication platforms such as quarterly Check In
newsletter and quarterly earned media reports.
·
Contribute to the production (script
writing, video storyboard design and editing) of all WHR collaterals including
annual corporate recap videos.
·
Partner with agency to curate media
invitee list and design annual media roundtable events in Asia Pacific.
·
Provide
onsite event day support for award ceremony, hotel grand opening, partnership
signing, etc. Should any media interview opportunities arise during the event,
to prepare for subsequent interview accordingly.
Administrative
·
Weekly
- Proactively maintain ‘PR&Comms’ folder by archiving latest press
releases, media interview preparatory documents, earned media coverage PPT
decks.
·
Monthly
– Proactively update ‘APAC President Briefcase’ with latest key messages,
business development, execution pipeline and other relevant statistics that are
useful as media soundbites.
·
Quarterly
– Partner with agency to proactively curate and design monthly PR PPT decks that
will highlight overall earned PR coverage alongside other useful statistics
such as PR Value, Clippings, Online Sentiment etc.
·
Yearly – Proactively work with MLC team
members to source for suitable video production agencies for annual corporate
recap video.
·
Assist SM to process quotations and
invoices for PR & Communications projects and maintain overall team operational
budget sheet.
·
Assist SM on adhoc corporate, property
brand, marketing and communications related activities when required.
Crisis
Communications
·
Assist SM to proactively maintain a
database of crisis communication drawer statements based on scenario mapping.
·
Partner with agency to identify
potential crisis and alert SM proactively. Reference to drawer statements and
prepare holding statements accordingly for crisis.
·
Partner with agency to organize annual media
training sessions for SLT.
KEY
EDUCATION AND COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS
·
Formal
training in Public Relations, with Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications,
or journalism. Preferred to have extensive media relations within Greater
China.
·
Minimum
3-6-years hands on experience working within the PR, Advertising, Brand/Product
marketing agencies and/or in house communications with MNC
·
Solid
understanding of print, online, broadcast, and social media platforms
·
Fluency
in spoken and written English and Chinese
·
Solid
project management and budget management capabilities with advanced attention
to detail
·
Self-starter,
exhibiting problem solving and to always maintain professional image.
·
Solid
proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator
programs will be advantageous.
