JOB OVERVIEW
The role isto provide guidance to the sales and marketing team of Wyndham Hotels & Resorts managed hotels in APAC, both in pre-opening and operating status. Todrive hotel performance by fully utilizing corporate resources, strategicbusiness planning and execution of marketing and sales plans and strategieswhich ultimately stimulate business demand and achieve ongoing enhancement inrevenue growth as well as the hotel budget and forecast by facilitating thevarious sales skills and strategies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
DrivingHotel Performance
Works closely with Operations Team, Hotel Opening Team, General Managers and hotel Directors of Sales & Marketing to conduct business reviews and develop marketing and sales strategies and tactics which support revenue maximization, enhancement of brands and returns to owners for new and existing hotels. Reviews marketing and sales budgets and allocated expenditures to ensure most effective use of funds available to support business objectives. Assist hotels in fully utilizing the available market intelligence for developing strategic plans and better understanding of the competition and the business trend. Conduct periodical reviews on all managed hotels in APAC and identify hotels with a shortfall in revenue against budget or a downtrend in business. Work with the hotels on developing strategies and plans addressing the issues and follow through on the execution. Work closely with sales & marketing functional leads (marketing, global sales, e-commerce, On-line Travel Agents, revenue management, public relations…etc) on driving hotel performance. Ensure that the hotels are making full use of the corporate resources and provided with full support from all disciplines. Ensure that the hotels are fully utilizing the support from Global Sales Organization (GSO) in pursuing business from key target segments and accounts. Work closely with the GSO in the key account strategies, RFPs, pursuit of new business for existing hotels and new openings. Provide constant feedback with marketing intelligence for the sales team to follow up on. Work closely with the Revenue Management team to ensure effective use of revenue management systems in the region to maximize revenue opportunities. Driving cluster initiatives when appropriate to leverage on scale and resources. Such activities include sales, revenue management, cluster promotions etc. Participate in the development of the pre-opening sales and revenue planning of new hotels and to ensure that the plans are well executed. Keeps abreast of Sales & Marketing related best practices in the assigned area and take the initiative to share with other DOSMs. Ensure synergy in the use of hotel operating systems, technology and sales practices and the sharing of best practices.
BrandMarketing
Assist Brand Marketing Team on special projects and new brand initiatives Assist the brand team to ensure that the hotels and brands are well represented in collaterals, advertising, promotions and displays. Ensure that all brand standards and values are maintained at all times. Assist hotels in developing of advertising, public relations and sales promotions and plans, which support the achievement of profitability objectives at the hotel level within the assigned area with the established brand values. Works closely with the brand team to offer support to hotels on the execution and interpretation of the positioning of different brands to ensure the presence of a uniformed brand experience in the marketplace.
OpeningSupport
Work closely with Hotel Opening Team and Sales & Marketing functional leads to develop a Sales & Marketing opening critical path, tools and tracking for managed hotels in APAC to shorten the ramp-up after opening. Provide sales & marketing guidance to pre-opening hotels to facilitate a smooth hotel opening and transition into operations. Oversee the development the Opening Sales & Marketing Plan and monitor the execution.
TalentDevelopment
Responsible for identifying the training needs of the hotels in the assigned area and coordinate on training programs for the region to improve the technical skills and knowledge of the sales & marketing teams. Responsible for facilitating the Sales Essential trainings to the property sales leaders and potential sales talents. New Sales leaders onboarding programs should be also arranged and make sure their familiar with WHR system and key strategy. Identify high potential talents for development in the assigned area. Ensure that there are Personal Development Plans for the individuals and the plans are well executed. Work closely with Sales & Marketing leadership and Human Resources in identifying external candidates for the ongoing development of the region.
OtherAdministrative Work
Carry out duties/projects as assigned by line manager from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS& REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent International degree in Marketing, Business or Commerce 8-10 years’ hotel DOSM background at multi brands is preferred Geographical/international experience and display an understanding of Asian market (especially China) Good understanding on the capability of hotel and distribution systems Ability to analyze, interpret and extract trends from data Demonstrate an affinity with technology International strategic marketing experience Experience in launching and marketing brands in multi national markets Work Management
