  A. Accepting a reservation

  Clerk: Good morning. This is Room Reservation. May I help you,sir?

  Guest: Yes, I’d like to reserve a room, please.

  C: Thank you, sir. When would you like your room, please?

  G: March 5 th.

  C: How long do you plan to stay?

  G: Three nights.

  C: What type of rooms would you like, sir?

  We have single rooms, double rooms, suites and deluxe suites.

  G: A suite, please.

  B. Refusing a reservation

  Clerk: Good morning, Reservation. May I help you, sir?

  Guest: I’d like to make a reservation.

  C: For which date?

  G: For the night of April 18 th, for one night.

  C: One moment, please, sir. Let me check our list …Thank you for waiting, sir. I’m afraid our hotel is fully booked on that date. Is it possible for you to change your reservation date?

  G: No, that’s not possible.

  C: We might have cancellations.

  Guest: I’d like to cancel a reservation.

  C: What was the date of the reservation?

  G: From February 27 th for 3 nights.

  C: Excuse me. But is the reservation for you or for another party?

  G: It’s for my boss.
