A. Recommending Chinese dishes.
Waitress: Have you decided on anything ,madam?
Guest: Not yet. I don’t know much of Chinese food. Could you make some recommendations ?
W: The beef is very good tonight. We also have several good chicken dishes, if you like chicken. We have roast chicken, multiflavour chicken., chicken chops, chicken in casserole and so on .
G: I’m not very fond of chicken.
W: What about fish ?fish is one of the specialities of the house. We have steamed carp ,sweet and sour croaker ,stewed turtle ,stirfried eel with brown sauce, etc
G: I think I’ll try the stewed turtle.
W: That’s a good choice. It’s both delicious and nutritious. We call it health food.
B. Recommending sweet food and fruit
Waitress: How did you feel the food , madam?
Guest: Very nice. I’ve never had any food as delicious as this.
W: I’m glad you’ve enjoyed it .Do you want anythind else?
G: What do you have for dessert?
W: Sorry ,we don’t have dessert for Chinese food. But we have sweet food and fruit ,if you like .The lotus seed soup is very nice tonight .Would you like to try a bit?
G: It’s a good ider. Give me the lotus seed soup an some pineapple .Thanks.
W: Straight way, madam.
C .Introducing how to use th e chopsticks
Waitress :Your fried prawns with pepper salt ,sir?
Guest:Thanks very much. Could you tell me how to use the chopsticks ?
W: Certainly, sir. But shall I bring you a spoon or a fork?
G: No ,I’d like to learn to use th e chopsticks.
W: All right, sir. Please hold them like this .Please sepatater the chopsticks. Rest them between the thumb and the forfinger. Place the thumb on the right chopstick about a third of the way down. Rest the left chopstick on the little finger and the ring finger. Use the chopsticks by the middle finger and the forefinger. Only thte chopstick on the right should move.
G: I see. It’s not very difficult.
W: Yes ,It’s easy to learn.
G: Thank you very much. By the way, what is this thing under the chopsticks?
W: It’s chopstick rest. We use it so that the tips of the chopsticks do not touch the table.
G: Wonderful .Thank you for your help.

员：好的，先生。请这样拿筷子。先把筷子分开。把它们夹在拇指和食指中间。把食指放在右边的筷子从下往上的三分之一处。把左边的筷子放在小指与无名指上。用中指和食指使用筷子。注意只能移动右边的那只筷子。
客：我知道了，不太难学。
员：是的，很容易学。
客：非常感谢。顺便问一问，筷子底下的东西是什么?
员：这是筷托。用了筷托，筷子的头部就不会碰到桌子。
